Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) is proud to celebrate National Arts in Education Week and the students, educators and programs that bring creativity, expression and excellence to life across our schools.
This year, SBISD has even more to celebrate. For the sixth consecutive year, the district has been named a District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). The recognition, awarded to only the top 5% of districts in Texas, reflects SBISD’s continued commitment to providing exceptional visual arts opportunities for students.
Creativity in Action
Across SBISD, the arts give students opportunities to discover their talents, find their voice and build skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
From an elementary student picking up a paintbrush for the first time to middle school students taking the stage and high school students developing portfolios, competing, performing and preparing for what comes next, the arts are an important part of the SBISD experience.
Through visual arts, music, theater and dance, students build creativity, confidence, collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills while experiencing the joy and connection that come from creating something of their own.
The arts also support SBISD’s T-2-4 vision for Every Child, providing students with experiences and skills that can open doors to college, careers, military service and creative industries.
Excellence Across SBISD
As SBISD celebrates 80 years of excellence, the arts remain an important part of our story and our future. Generations of students have found community, confidence and opportunity through the arts, and today’s students continue that tradition in classrooms, studios, rehearsal spaces and stages throughout the district.
